Cropping around LA

Earlier in July, Lucy Hale was spotted at a launch event at Urban Outfitters in Los Angeles. The "Pretty Little Liars" star looked absolutely glowing in her dark floral crop tank and with her hair in a loose side braid. 

In the midst of summer, crop tops are a great choice. For days out with family or friends choose a light and loose crop top together with jeans or shorts and you'll be ready for the summer heat. Here are a few that I've picked out:

Minka Kelly in NYC

Upper-class boho-chic.

Minka Kelly sure knows how to put together an outfit. She is pictured above out and about in New York City, starbucks in hand. She looks gorgeous!

What drew me to this look was her skirt. I love the print and it's absolutely perfect for summer. It's by Myne and she paired it with a plain white blouse by Theory. Miss Selfridge's Jenny Humphrey inspired dresses

Fashion for the Upper East Side rebel

Jenny Humphrey is known for her bold, daring and ever-changing style on Gossip Girl and she has certainly evolved the most over the three seasons. Recently, UK high street store Miss Selfridge teamed up with the show to create an 8-piece Gossip Girl inspired fashion line, and I think the "Jenny" dresses are definitely worth blogging about.

Personally, I don't think the other dresses (inspired by Serena van der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf and Vanessa Abrams) reflect the characters' fashion sense at all, but as soon as I saw the "Jenny" dresses (pictured below) they reminded me of her, and that was before I even knew about the line! The two dresses are a great example of how varied Jenny's style is. Her choices can never be predicted, but always reflect her personality and state of mind at the time.

To the left we have a cute little floral number (the perfect alternative to an LBD) which represents the girly side to Jenny and to the right, a casual but dark and grungy look to represent her more laid-back and artistic nature.

Selena Gomez's Jovani dress

Selena glams it up for a cause

Recognise this picture? The outfit Selena Gomez is wearing here to the St Jude's Runway For Life Benefit is just one example of why she is my favourite style icon.

The dress is by Jovani, a high-end prom dress maker. I've always been a huge fan of Jovani, as each one of their dresses is absolutely gorgeous and one-of-a-kind. The brand is popular among celebrities; the dresses have been worn to red carpet events, concerts and even in magazines. Selena's dress is no longer available, but I saw a dress of a similar style on Miss Selfridge's website:

The outfit isn't complete without the diamond-shaped drop earrings. Here is a pair from Topshop:

Nina Dobrev shopping at Miss Selfridge

Nina hits the UK high street

In early June, Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder (stars of the hit TV show The Vampire Diaries) came to London to promote the series. They did appearances with Bliss, HMV, This Morning, among others, and of course couldn't leave without exploring some of what the London high street has to offer.

Nina Dobrev is pictured above shopping with her co-stars, holding a Miss Selfridge bag. Here is what she bought:

My favourite item is the "Light Tie Waist Chambray Shirt" but I can't help but love the leather jacket - it's so typical Nina. (We have a previous post on Nina Dobrev's love of leather jackets here).

I much prefer Miss Selfridge as their items are of similar prices, but in my opinion, much more worth it. They are cute and stylish, but they don't try too hard to be original like Topshop does a lot of the time. They have many stores abroad, but if it isn't in your country, don't worry - there is international shipping!
